Yes, you are. And you know it, which explains the urgency of your agenda. You never counted on us…on the “teabaggers” and other related patriots you so cavalierly dismissed when the uprisings began in April. Your socialist calculus never made provision for the variable of Americans determined to preserve our freedom. Much like Osama Bin Laden, you had us pegged as impotent paper tigers. And, like Osama, you figured wrong.

We smoked you out of the underbrush; we flushed you out into the open and exposed you for what you really are: a self-loathing American who wants to transform this once great republic into a third world kleptocracy ruled by you and your Democrat allies. The only joy I can derive from this slide into the abyss is the fact that Scott Rasmussen is recording your fall:

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 30% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty percent (40%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -10 (see trends). Republicans have opened a six-point lead on the Generic Congressional Ballot.

Sixty percent (60%) say that the Fort Hood shootings should be investigated by the military as a terrorist act. Just 27% prefer a criminal investigation by civilian authorities.

This Veterans Day, 81% of Americans have a favorable opinion of the U.S. military. Thirty-six percent (36%) had a close friend or relative who gave their life for our country. A Rasmussen video report notes that 69% say that military service is good for young people.

To date I have received no fewer than ten e-mails inquiring if I believe the U.S. military will stage a coup d’ etat sometime in the next three years.

My answer is a flat out NO. Red-blooded Americans who love this republic are incapable of such behavior. We weren’t raised on the South and Central American paradigm of the banana republic. We are Americans raised on the paradigm of the Constitution.

Resting comfortably in that knowledge, I can comfortably predict what MAY happen: the Man-Child will command the military to do that which it cannot in good conscience do. Most of the enlisted personnel and the lower-level officers will sense this. Somewhere, somehow, some officer will say “no” and stand down, ordering the men and women under his command to do likewise. They will obey - not so much out of duty to him, but duty to their nation, and word of the mutiny will spread. Before long, all our armed forces will grind to a halt.

Think of it as a “coup de NOT,” where the entire military - save for those generals and admirals whose political loyalties trump their military loyalties - simply refuses to obey its putative Commander-in-Chief. Divisions, battalions and brigades immediately bivouac. Aircraft carriers, frigates and destroyers drop anchor. Air squadrons fire up the barbecue grills.The nation’s military flips a collective bird at Barack Hussein Obama.

The impact? You good people are intelligent readers. You know the President of the United States is the Chief Executive but, as such, is only as powerful as the force he commands. If the military itself abandons him and stands down, whence his power?

I can tell you this: it won’t come from Zimbabwe - which, by that point in time, will likely be the only nation willing to offer him refuge when the time comes for him to depart.
