Really bad medicine with an even higher price tag

I and many other others called this one, so it’s no surprise: the latest cost estimate for ObamaCare has risen to $1.6 trillion over the next decade. Expect that to double even as the availability of quality health care deteriorates and services are eventually rationed, as they presently are in Britain, Canada, France and other countries with universal, single-payer, government-run health care systems. Not to fear, friends. The private health care system will still be permitted to exist. Unfortunately, only the government elites and the wealthy (what few of them remain) will be able to afford it.

Panetta the Putz backs down on Cheney remarks

I figured he would because they are over the top and, as usual, another instance of liberal projection. Dick Cheney (and every other patriotic American) wants nothing less than another terrorist attack on this nation and he did everything in his power for seven years to ensure we were safe. Panetta interpreted Cheney’s warning of danger to be a hope for disaster in part of the Obama administration’s ongoing effort to establish the Bush administration as the epicenter of terrorist rage against the U.S. and therefore the focus of blame when - not if, but when - another attack occurs, in spite of the administration’s “We ♥ Terrorist Captives” program now unfolding in sunny, tropical Bermuda. Well, this should mollify those who seek the destruction of Western Civilization. Instead of a cramped cell at Gitmo, they can relax on the sunny beaches of Bermuda and swim in bathtub-warm ocean waters - all on the U.S. taxpayer’s dime. ABC “News” can’t understand why ratings are in the toilet

I can only laugh. Network execs are demanding that Nielson launch an investigation to determine why the new Obama Network has the lowest ratings since Nielson introduced the “People Meter” in 1987. I guess egregious, nakedly partisan bias had nothing to do with the slump. Not to worry though…I’m sure those ratings will skyrocket once ABC News begins broadcasting live from the Oval Office.

Sen. Ensign admits he’s human; Democrats to call for execution

That might as well be the headline in tomorrow’s NY Times, right? I could tell he’s a Republican because that was the first word of the AP story, just ahead of Sen. John Ensign. Apparently the dashing, handsome, former veterinarian busied himself shtupping one of his staff when he should have been undermining Harry Reid. According to the report, all of this took place in 2007 and 2008. Ensign and his wife appear to have reconciled over the matter, with Mrs. Ensign stating that:

“Since we found out last year we have worked through the situation and we have come to a reconciliation. This has been difficult on both families. With the help of our family and close friends our marriage has become stronger,” Mrs. Ensign said.

The cynic in me insists this is nonsense and that Darlene understands a meal ticket when she sees one - just as Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Edwards have. The Christian in me takes her at her word, accepts the concupiscence of fallen human nature and trusts in the redemptive power of divine forgiveness and grace.

Whatever the case, expect Democrats to cry for his head on pike - with the fat sodomite himself, Bonnie Fwank - leading the lynch mob.
