Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky (1839 - 1881) composed Pictures at an Exhibition, later orchestrated by Maurice Ravel and, in this video, two movements -The Hut on Fowl’s Legs and the Great Gate of Kiev - are performed by the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Herbert Von Karajan.
This video was recorded in 1986 and the videography is superb. I will never cease to be amazed and astounded by the ability of those who can not only play musical instruments - but play them perfectly.
